50 things to do before you're 11 ¾

Have you ever cooked on a campfire, set up a snail race or made a grass trumpet?

Well according to The National Trust you should have done!

The organisation has put together a list of the 50 things every kid should do before they turn 11 and three quarters.

They released the booklet because they say a third of children have never climbed a tree and they want to encourage more of you to get outside.

The National Trust looks after lots of Britain's countryside, coastline and historic places.

As well as making this list, they are also opening up a lot of their woodland and estates for free next weekend.

Of course - climbing trees and lighting fires can be really dangerous - so if you're going to do any of these things you must make sure there's an adult supervising what you're up to!

Here's the full list:

We asked you: what do you think of the list? Will it encourage you to go and play outside more?

Which are your favourites and which are you doing during the holidays?

"I'm 10 and 3/4 and I've done the majority of these things. I have a year to do the rest!"

Sammi, Hartlepool, England

"I think it's a great idea! I've done nearly all of these things and I've only got a month to go until I'm 11 and 3/4! Tonight me and my mum are going to go on a nature walk in the dark, so that's another one ticked off the list!"

Beth, Maidstone, England

"This is a good idea, however, for children under 11 some of the activities might be a bit dangerous without an adult."

Charlotte, Essex, England

"I went on a week-long camp with school and did about 30 of these things! Good thing too as I don't have much time left - I'm 11 and a half!"

Edie, Scotland

"I've only got one more to do, which is get behind a waterfall, but it's really cold at the moment so I might not be able to do it by my birthday next month."

Rachel, Plymouth, England

"I have only done about three fifths of these activities and I'm nearly 13! I think this list will encourage kids to go outside more as it's a fun goal to work towards."

Mhairi, Scotland

"I've done most of the list and I was 11 in January! I think the list will encourage people to go outside instead of sitting inside, especially as it is nearly summer!"

Annabel, Fareham, England

"I've done a lot of these things with Brownies! My favourite out of the ones I've done was lighting a fire without matches - even though it didn't actually light, we ate our marshmallows anyway!"

Maya, Sheffield, England

"I like the list and I am thinking of doing all of these."

Mojid, London, England

"Oh great my 12th birthday is today and I passed 11 and 3/4 in January. But I'm still going to do the last 20 or so, just for the fun of it."

Krystian, England

"I have done some of the things on the list but I think some of the things that they are telling you to do are quite dangerous. For example, feeding a wild bird from your hand, it could bite or scratch you, or making fire. My parents would also tell me off for doing some of the things."

Lucy, England

"I am 12 and have done most of the things on the list but there are some I definitely want to do this summer! My favourite would probably have to be climbing a tree, I also like the plant it, grow it, eat it, because the sensation of growing something yourself then eating it is great! I also think every kid should experience camping in the wild!"

Hannah, Cambridgeshire, England

"The list is very wild. I think we should do this so we can experience something new."

Mahnoor, England

"I've only done 19, but the thing is kids would love to do it but their parents would rather they stay at home or go to the cinema."

Daisy, Lancashire, England

"Done them all ages ago and I'm not even 12 yet."

Molly, Hartlepool, England

"I wish I had read this before. I've probably only done half of these! Luckily I still have some time, I'm only 11 and a half."

Hannah, Rochdale, England

"I'm a 13-year-old girl and I still love climbing trees! It's a real adventure when you get to the top and have an amazing view!"

Devon, Basingstoke, England

"I have done most of these things when playing with my friends. We are twelve now and we still love most of these things but the best one is rolling down the hill!!"

Avneet, England
